Don DeFosset
As founder & principal, Don DeFosset leads the The DJD Group with investments and operations in multiple industries. Previously DeFosset was Chairman, President and CEO of Walter Industries, Chairman of James Hardie Industries and also held senior executive positions with Dura Automotive, Navistar, AlliedSignal, Mack Trucks, and Rockwell International. He serves on the Chairman of the Executive Board of ATL Partners, a New York based private equity firm. In addition, DeFosset serves on the public company Board of Directors of Terex Corporation and ITT Corporation.
DeFosset was appointed by the Governor of Florida to the Tampa Sports Authority and previously as Chairman of the State of Florida Tax Reform Committee. He is also active in state, regional and local community affairs, including Co-Chairman of the Tampa Bay Host committee for the 2012 RNC Convention, Chairman Emeritus of the University of Tampa Board of Trustees and Board memberships in the Straz Performing Arts Center, WEDU Public Television and other civic & charitable organizations including the Florida Council of 100.
DeFosset is a graduate of Purdue University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Harvard University where he earned an MBA.
He resides in Tampa, Florida.
